There is a lot going on in the “Your Square Life Universe” this week. I just got back from my (approximately) 10-year High School Reunion. In my fevered anticipation, I got thinking about the high school mix tape and all that went with them. For those that never indulged, I guess the movie/book “High Fidelity” is the best insight into this little word. I remember hours spent in front of the duel-deck tape boom-box sorting through stacks of tapes, rewinding and syncing until the perfect little rectangle of sound and emotion was produced. Then I started working at a music shop and my friend Fred introduced to making collage covers over the liner notes. (Fred Rains is and was the king of mix-tape.) I just played at it.

On top of it, I’ve been getting some nice compliments from random people about the strip and how it fills a little, unique space in their lives. Combine the two and this strip was born.

I want to be inept.

Here is a fun little strip about a problem that is becoming ever too prevalent, buffoonery.

Sadly, one of the primary symptoms of this unfortunate malady is a pervasive ignorance to one’s condition. It is of course terminal, with the onset being early in the junior high school years and lasting possibly as long as 70+ years. It primarily affects neurological functions, leading to a general dulling of cognition. Death generally occurs soon after generally antagonizing ones acquaintances and coworkers over a period of years until they are required to perform non-elective surgery to abate the symptoms, which usually takes the form of a savage beating.

It is a truly unfortunate condition. Please do what you can and isolate those affected to non-essential duties, such as pencil sharpening, pointing, or managerial functions.

YSL #179 - Trouble getting my brilliance across . . .

Lately, I’ve been tired, damn tired. When I get tired, I mumble and tend to end my sentences . . . [somewhere before my full idea is expressed.] Sorry about that.
