Gallery Show!

I've got the new show coming up on the 4th of July, so forget your friends.  They don't care about you like I do and turn out for the show.  I'll have five new prints and a couple older ones and the night of the opening I'll be signing books and giving out sketches.  The festivities will be from 5 to around 7 p.m.

The Babes in the Woods Gallery is in the old Post Office Mall at 333 West 4th Avenue.  Just go the first entrance and head towards the back.  The gallery is open 10-5 Tuesday through Friday and on "Rainy Saturdays".

I'll be posting more picts of the new prints throughout July.

Ttlewave Signing . . done

Another fine signing, this time at Titlewave Downtown. Met a load of tourists. Shamelessly used a passing baby to attract readers. Worked on some ideas for a new book. All in all a good afternoon.

Titlewave Likes me . . .

. . . they really like me .

Saturday, June 21st, 1:00 PM @ Title Wave Books Downtown - 415 W 5th Ave
Your Square Life Book Signing

Local artist, blogger, and superfamous cartoonist Lee Post joins us at our Downtown store on the 21st of June for a book signing and friendly how-do-you-do. You may remember Lee's popular strip Your Square Life (now available in handy book form) from the Anchorage Press. He is also the author of 50 Lies Alaskans Tell Tourists and Alaska Big and Small.

Inflatible Sumo Wrestling is where it is at!

Mikey and MariaJose's 30th Birthday was filled with violence and mayhem, mostly from the inflatible sumo wrestling. It was gorgeous.

Japan Travel Diary Day 7 - The Ramen Restarant

Book Signing next week

I'll be signing copies of all three of the current books, "The very Best of Your Square Life", "Alaska: Big and Small" and "Lies for Alaskan Tourists" at the Downtown branch of Titlewave on Saturday the 21st at 1:00 p.m. to whenever. Hopefully, I'll have a few copies of the newest book "Texas: Big and Small" on hand. They may be in the mail right now, maybe not. Try your luck.

And . . . if you give me a big wink (a really noticeable, quasi-lewd wink, preferably with you saying "wink" at the same time, so I don't miss it.) I'll give you a free sketch for being such a pal. Wink!

The colorized version

Here's the final version of the picture of the teen from the Harajuku district. It turned out fairly well. The original will be on display at the Babes in the Woods Gallery (333 W. 4th Ave Gallery 10) starting July 4.

Texas: Big and Small, coming soon

I just heard from my publisher that I should have a copy of the new book in my hands in a week or two. I'll only get a handfull of copies, so if you want me to save one for you, comment or shoot me an email and I'll put your name on one (along with a sketch).

Japan Travel Diary: Day 5

Power Animal Party

In Alaska, there is a mystical totem that can only be found on the cheap t-shirt table of the majority of tourist traps, the Animal Power T-Shirt. When joined, the force unleashed is tremendous.

Power Animals Gooooooo!

Power of the Huskey! Power of the Wolf! Power of the Eagle! Power of the Bear!

You may ask, "what animal would I be?" The answer moose, because that was the only t-shirt left at the store.

Like Fat Albert and the gang, after our series of misadventures, we formed for a ramshakle band and repeated the same dance moves over and over again.

(Yes, that is a wolf face pined to Mindy's leg. Don't worry, the wolf who owned the face skin is still alive . . . somewhere. Such is the power of the t-shirt, you can totally steal a face off a live wolf while wearing one. Try it. You may be surprised.)
